How two friends from Michigan built Apex Rental Pro
Tommy owns T&A Tent and Party Rentals with his brother, putting up tents and running events for families and businesses across the state. He spent years cycling through rental software trying to keep up with customers, contracts, and payments — and hated every option out there.
The big platforms felt generic, the cheap ones felt clunky, and none of them felt built for tent and event companies. Tommy wanted something that actually understood the work — the layouts, the deposits, the day-of logistics, the way a single Saturday can swing the whole month.
Scott grew up in I.T. and had been writing software since he was a kid. Eventually he offered to help build the thing Tommy kept describing.
From a spreadsheet to a platform
What started as a shared spreadsheet for tracking jobs and deposits turned into a quote builder. The quote builder turned into a contracts and payments flow. That turned into a calendar, a layout designer, a customer portal, a mobile app — and eventually, the platform Apex Rental Pro is today.

Pretty early on, we realized other businesses were running into the exact same problems. Lawn care crews, equipment rental shops, and other service companies kept asking if they could use Apex too. So we opened it up.
